ANDRES PEÑA

Fine Art Landscape & Adventure Photographer

Beyond the familiar. Into the extraordinary.

Andres Peña Photography is an exploration of extraordinary places, fleeting light and the experiences behind each photograph.

The pursuit is part of the photograph.

I am drawn to places that require something from me — a long drive before dawn, a solitary walk beneath a dark sky, waiting through changing weather, or returning until light, atmosphere and place finally align.

Based on the Central Coast of New South Wales, Australia, my work is rooted in landscape and the night sky, while the same curiosity also takes me into wildlife, architecture, aviation and people.

Across all of it, I am searching for the same thing: moments when the familiar becomes extraordinary.

A distilled view of the photographic practice.

A tightly curated collection bringing together landscape, night, wildlife, architecture, aviation and people.

Where the work begins.

Landscape and the night sky sit at the centre of my photographic practice.

I am fascinated by the way familiar places change at the edges of the day and deep into the night — through mist, moonlight, stars, weather, reflection and silence.

The photographs often begin with planning and technical precision. What keeps me returning is simpler: the experience of standing alone in an extraordinary place and watching it change.

Brief encounters in an unpredictable world.

Wildlife photography asks for patience, instinct and acceptance that the subject controls the moment.

I look for more than behaviour or detail — often placing the animal within its environment to preserve atmosphere, movement and a sense of place.

The same eye. Different subjects.

My photography extends beyond landscape while retaining the same attention to light, structure, atmosphere and movement.

Architecture & Form explores geometry, scale and abstraction.

Flight & Motion focuses on movement, engineering and the energy of aviation.

People brings that attention closer — to expression, environment and presence.

Photography shaped by geography.

Some locations become part of the identity of the work itself.

Explore photographs through the landscapes, coastlines, cities and remote places in which they were made.

The image is only part of the story.

Planning, travel, failed attempts, weather, darkness, long drives and the uncertainty of working in remote locations all shape the final photograph.

I share more of that process through The Pursuit and Stories.

Some photographs carry more than a single moment.

Behind them may be a long journey, difficult weather, repeated attempts, technical decisions or a place that stayed with me long after the camera was packed away.

Stories is where those photographs become longer narratives.
